Foundation Grants

Phase III Summer

The Program

Educational Entity Grants: The Foundation offers grants of up to approximately $20,000 to educational entities within SSVEC’s service territory. These grants support larger-scale educational initiatives or projects benefiting the region’s youth.

Teacher Microgrants: The Foundation offers up to $500 microgrants to teachers within SSVEC’s service area. These grants are intended to facilitate the development of innovative instructional strategies, help create new teaching materials, fund the purchase of supplies or equipment to enhance the educational experience, cover travel and admission fees to educational facilities, including but not limited to museums, art exhibitions, or science centers, or sponsor teacher continuing education.


Eligibility

Educational Entity Grants: Interested entities must submit a grant application outlining the nature of the project or initiative, the number of students to be impacted, and a detailed budget with financial documentation. Proposals will be reviewed at the end of Phase III. Recipients must agree to permit SSVEC to highlight the recipients’ accomplishments with the grant funding in print and other media. Educational Entity organizations and schools can submit applications for each of the three phases of the Foundation Grant Program.

Teacher Microgrants: Interested teachers must submit a grant application detailing the purpose of the grant, the proposed use of funds, and the expected impact on student learning. Applications will be reviewed and awarded bi-monthly until the end of Phase III. Recipients must agree to permit SSVEC to highlight recipients’ accomplishments with the grant funding in print and other media. Teachers can submit applications for each of the three phases of the Foundation Grant Program.


Application Process

Recipients must agree to permit SSVEC to highlight the recipients’ accomplishments with the grant funding in print and other media.

Teacher Microgrants: Interested teachers must submit a grant application detailing the purpose of the grant, the proposed use of funds, and the expected impact on student learning. Application must include a quote or other financial documentation from a vendor. Applications will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis until funds for the current program year have been exhausted. Recipients must agree to permit SSVEC to highlight recipients’ accomplishments with the grant funding in print and other media.


Selection Criteria

The Application Review Committee (ARC) will utilize a scoring rubric to rate each application based on various criteria, including but not limited to the potential impact of the project, the relevance to the fields of education, science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics, the feasibility of the proposed budget, and the capability of the applicant to successfully implement the project..

Submitting Applications

  • Grant Applications are now CLOSED.
  • The SSVEC Foundation will begin accepting Educational Entity Grants and Teacher Microgrants starting January 1, 2025.
