The SSVEC Foundation awards scholarships of $4,000 to dependent children of members of Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. To qualify, the student must be claimed as a dependent on the member's taxes and have plans to be a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college, university, vocational school, or other post high school educational institution as defined under IRS Code 151(4). Students must be registered for and complete 12 credit hours per semester (or equivalent) to be considered full-time.

The SSVEC Foundation presents forty $4,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in the cooperative's service area. At least one graduate from the areas of Benson, Bowie, Sierra Vista, Patagonia, San Simon, St. David, Tombstone, Elfrida, and Willcox will be awarded.
Trade School Applicants must show extracurricular and community involvement and passion and potential in their chosen trade.
University and College Scholarship Applicants must rank academically in the top 20% of their class or be the in the top 10 students, whichever is greater. SSVEC verifies the class ranking of each college scholarship applicant with school counselors.
Successful applicants will show concern for community. Recipients will be selected on the basis of participation in school extracurricular activities, community involvement, volunteer work, leadership, character, and promise.
Yes, you will be required to submit at least two letters of recommendation with your application.
Applications are accepted from November 1st through the first Monday in March, every year. Check back on this website for the active application link. Starting in 2025, paper applications will no longer be accepted. Students must apply online using the application link provided on this website.
