Foundation Grants

The Program

The SSVEC Foundation offers one-time grants of up to $40,000 to educational entities in 2025. In addition, one $150,000 jumbo grant is available for a winning and qualified project of merit. All programs and projects should be a transformative education initiative with lasting impact.

Teacher microgrants in 2025 offer one-time funding of up to $1000 for teachers within the SSVEC service area, who are not eligible for awards through the Cochise Education Foundation or the Education Foundation of Sierra Vista.

2025 Educational Entity Grants

Educational entity grants support larger-scale educational initiatives or projects benefiting the youth in the SSVEC service area. Educational entities may submit up to 2 projects for consideration per phase.

  • PHASE I & PHASE II – April 15 and October 15 closing dates – Up to $40,000
  • PHASE II JUMBO GRANT – October 15 Closing Date – Up to: $150,000

Educational Entities may apply for grants in Phase I and in Phase II.  In Phase II only, entities may apply for both the grant types (up to $40,000 and the Jumbo Grant), however, only one will be eligible for funding.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for an educational entity grant, interested entities must submit an application outlining the nature of the project or initiative, the number of students to be impacted, and a detailed budget with financial documentation. Proposals will be reviewed in March/April (Phase I) and October/November (Phase II).

Recipients must agree to permit SSVEC to highlight the recipient’s accomplishments and grant funding program in print and other media. Educational Entity organizations and schools can submit applications for both phases of the Educational Entity Grant Program.

2025 Teacher Microgrants

Teacher Microgrants are intended to facilitate instructional strategies, help create new teaching materials, and fund the purchase of supplies or equipment not otherwise covered by schools or school districts. Funds can be used to cover travel and admission fees to educational facilities, including but not limited to museums, art exhibitions, or science centers.  Funds can also be used to support teacher continuing education.

ONE PHASE – October 15 closing date – up to $1000

Eligibility:

In 2025, SSVEC Foundation donated $180,000 to the Cochise Education Foundation (CEF) and $80,000 to the Education Foundation of Sierra Vista (EFSV) to support their mini grant and inspiration boost programs.  Only teachers who are not otherwise eligible for funding through those two foundations are eligible to receive funding through the SSVEC Teacher Microgrant Program.  If you are a member of Sierra Vista Unified School District and are eligible for funding through EFSV, please apply at www.educationfoundationsv.org/inspogrants

All other teachers (private schools, charter schools, etc.) within the SSVEC service area may use the application below.
